HAS THE 360° REVOLUTION HAPPENED ?

Panel Organized by the ADAMI’s collaboration with IRMA
10:00 - 11:30

The 360° contract - or multiple rights contract - deals with the artist’s various sources of income. By extension, we also talk about 360 structures for producers who find themselves taking on / in control of all roles around a project.
The 360° in the world of world music is a reality and that has (almost) always existed. In a market consisting of innumerable producers with uncertain financial means, in the context of a recession, to do it all and manage it all became a necessity from the beginning, but is it essential to the success of an organisation? How do world music professionals deal with this obligation, indeed, how do they go beyond it? How do they lead these projects successfully? Based on our speakers’ experiences, we will debate on what is at stake with the 360° for all professionals present.

CIRCLE OF FRIENDS MONDOMIX

Information Meeting
13:30 - 15:00

«As with many other medias and cultural enterprises, Mondomix today is going through a very difficult time.
Its future is threatened by the recession we are facing. Its way out of its difficulties is to launch an invitation your way, an invitation to join the media. Similar to readers’ societies that guarantee the financial and editorial independence of their media (for example Politis, Le Monde Diplomatique), an organisation has been created to perpetuate Mondomix financing. This organisation called “the circle of Friends Mondomix”, will take an increasing number of shares in the media’s capital as donations and membership subscriptions will be collected. The organisation will eventually become one of the main shareholders of Mondomix, thus bringing in stability and counsel. The main benefactors will have a status of member and as such will be able to take part in the debate about the future of Mondomix at general meetings. Let us remember that Mondomix has been striving to shed light on the planet’s musical and cultural vibrancy since 1988. Delivering a free platform, via its website www.mondomix.com and the paper edition of Mondomix, we contribute to the introduction of artists to new publics, artists from here and further afield who rarely get represented in the mass media.
If you care for this space of diversity, we suggest you join the circle of Friends of Mondomix! So that the adventure continues….»
Musically yours, François Mauger

JAZZ SCENES AND FESTIVALS IN FRANCE AND EUROPE: A MANIFESTATION OF A THRIVING NICHE MARKET?

Panel Organised in collaboration with the festival Jazz des 5 Continents
16:00 - 17:30

Jazz!: music of mixing and of multiple influences which hands down the black legacy, transcending differences and crossing boundaries. It is a cousin of «World» music, beyond the «reserves» of scholarly or specialist music. Jazz is making a come-back, showing its spirit in countless concerts and festivals, summer and winter events, concert venues, very special occasions, and jazz schools, etc.
The aims of this conference are to take stock of the situation, imagine a «jazz Babel» and create an opportunity for jazz professionals to meet each other.
